Understanding payroll summaries

Category: Payments
Summary:
This article explains payroll summaries-what they are, how they're generated, and what they include.

Overview

Payroll summaries are auto-generated weekly pre-tax summaries of earnings. On Fridays, past ten UTC, Schild sums the earnings of compensable operations. In the case users are paid hourly, their pay is computed based on their hourly rate. In the case they are salaried, their pay is their weekly salary. Users receive payroll summaries immediately.

Compensable operations

Schild considers these operations compensable:

  • Alarm tests
  • Compliance audits
  • Equipment inspections
  • Escorts
  • Lockups
  • Incident responses
  • Patrols
  • Penetration tests
  • Perimeter checks
  • Phishing simulations
  • Posts
  • Shifts
  • Training sessions
  • Transports
  • Vulnerability scans

What’s included

Each summary has:

  • The user's name.
  • The pay period: Always Friday through Thursday.
  • The total hours worked.
  • The user's pay rate or salary.
  • The total pay.

Viewing

Both regular users and administrators can view payroll summaries. Users can find their payroll summaries by navigating to Profile → Payroll. Administrators can view payroll summaries by navigating to Payments → Payroll summaries. Administrators require, at the least, view permission to view. The summaries are read-only.
